As many know, Amazon.com is littered with free music downloads. Most of these are of the expected sort, the free downloads we've all come to know; record company samplers, festival and event compilations, advance or alternate tracks from established artists or free tracks from artists-labels trying to make a name for themselves.
Don't get me wrong there are some worthy tunes to be found. A new sampler Polyvinyl, "Polyvinyl 15-Year Anniversary," is a fantastic find. The track from Xiu Xiu, "Hi (Acoustic)" is worth the download alone. Check it out here: http://amzn.to/z97nwU
What's really great though is when you find something that you really like and it just happens to be free. As was the case for me about 10 minutes ago when I stumbled upon the "Mi Ami" album "Dolphins" (Thrill Jockey) for free as a digital download. http://amzn.to/z3iUHg
Jump on it quick, who knows how long this will stick around (for free). Pick up the 12 inch limited release album if they have any in stock. You'll probably want the mp3s either way.
